How to get started

meet and greet

Scheduling Your First Session

We offer a free 10–15 minute meet-and-greet by phone. This conversation is a chance to get a feel for one another, ask questions, and decide whether working together feels like a good fit.

You do not need to prepare anything in advance. Some people come with specific questions, while others simply want to talk through what is bringing them in.

If we decide to move forward, the first full session is focused on getting on the same page. This includes talking through what you are hoping for, what feels most important right now, and how the work might unfold.

For therapy, this initial session helps clarify goals, explore relevant background, and begin building a shared understanding of what you want support with. For assessment, this session helps identify the questions you are hoping to answer and determine the most appropriate approach.

What the First Session Is Like

The first session is not a test and there is no expectation to tell your entire story right away. It is a collaborative conversation meant to establish direction and begin forming a working relationship. Many people leave the first session feeling relieved to have started and clearer about what comes next.

From there, the work continues at a pace that feels thoughtful and appropriate to your needs. Whether you are seeking therapy, assessment, or consultation, the process is shaped collaboratively and adjusted as needed over time.

Fees & Insurance

Fees vary depending on the type of service and length of session. We are committed to transparency around cost and can discuss current rates during the initial meet-and-greet so expectations are clear before moving forward. In accordance with the No Surprises Act, clients who are self-pay or using out-of-network benefits may request a Good Faith Estimate outlining the expected cost of services. This estimate is intended to support informed decision-making and avoid unexpected expenses.

Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made.

We are a self-pay practice and do not accept insurance directly. However, many clients choose to use out-of-network benefits if their insurance plan allows. We can provide documentation upon request to support reimbursement through your insurance provider.

If you have questions about whether out-of-network coverage applies to you, we encourage you to contact your insurance company directly, as coverage varies by plan.
